Obviously, the cartels would have to be eliminated and order restored. Mexican politics is overrun with criminals. People say "oh but the Mexicans are voting for these criminals", well yeah there's not an option. One criminal vs another.

In terms of poverty and failed infrastructure, Mexico is sitting on VAST natural resources that they can't do a thing about. We're looking at a fairly fast turn-around of their economy once we can rid them of the scourge of corruption and crime and start their economy working.

I realize I'm pipe dreaming here, I thought that was the point when the subject of Greenland came up? You think annexation of Greenland is a BETTER idea?

I said nothing about other countries being better, or at all. I'm just saying that the idea of annexing Mexico isn't an easy one, has dramatic downsides, and untapped reserves - which could take years and years to develop - might not be enough.

I have no problem blue-sky thinking, just don't jump up my ass when I take the opposite side. And especially don't accuse me of things I didn't even mention. It's intellectually dishonest.
