First, the software upgrades to Apple and Android phones earlier this year did NOT enable the government to track you more than they already can, UNLESS you also installed other software. It created an API to allow other software to work, (and be a little creepy.)

Second, the UK does not have a bill of rights like the US. So they can violate your civil rights a lot easier in the UK than in the US.

That out of the way: The UK IT newspaper "The Register" is reporting that some wuflu test data will be available to UK law enforcement. The UK Police can query the database to determine if a specific individual has been told to self-isolate. They don't have access to other data.

Concerns are being raised that this will have a chilling effect on people in the UK getting tested, since the files for not isolating are British pounds $1000 to $10000.
