There's no weaseling her way in. There are too many votes already cast for Hillary to even have a chance of getting 30% of the vote at this point. That is not what this is about.
This is about the civil war within the democrat party between the Clintonistas and the Obama followers. Why do you think Joe's people "chose" the worst performing candidate of the whole entire field to run as Joe's running mate. Its because Kamala is team Obama all the way (read the articles from 2017ish if you doubt me). The only thing that the 2 factions do agree on is that Sanders would have wrecked the party for a generation. Now, its about which faction will control the party moving forward after this election.

I call it new guard vs. old guard, but Obama vs. Clinton works just as well. Clinton believes she is the head of the party. Problem is, we all heard Biden say “I am the Democrat Party.” Thinking back on it, that line seemed out of place and was probably aimed at Clinton.
So the stage is set for a major showdown. And Killary will do all in her power to retain control of the party - even if it means the party loses the election.
Let me spell it out: if Biden wins, a non-Clintonite (Harris) will be POTUS, and no Clintonite will have a chance again for another EIGHT years, and by then their power base will be diffuse and gone. She has to shiv Biden so that Clintonistas get a new chance in 2024.
Alternative take: she's making waves to get a DNC pay off to STFU.
Alternative take: she's hoping Biden is forced out next week and she can argue she should be the nominee (won't happen).
