So who actually gets to legally handle/possess the laptop of sin? As a private citizen I am subject to harsh penalties. Can GEOTUS just pick it up? Is there some sort of licensing? Can any cop touch it or only special ones?

I believe the laptop itself is in the hands of DOJ/FIB. Rudy has copy of hard drive.

Giuliani already has it - became the computer repairman’s property when Hunter failed to pick it up - and as Trump’s personal lawyer, he can just give it to GEOTUS

Oh I’m pretty sure it does have that... but I believe President Trump could handle it by virtue of being the chief law enforcement officer. I’m not a lawyer, though
