Netanyahu has been a good ally to the US and to President Trump. It's unfortunate that he has to go through this, hopefully the charges are trumped up crap and he gets a swift and decisive resolution. It's interesting that the chief prosecutor has decided now to bring these charges only after Netanyahu and his party failed to secure a majority in Israel's parliament. It's almost like he's putting his foot on the scale to tip the next election (which is inevitable since no party has secured a majority) towards the much more liberal Benjamin Gantz and his party.
