When I first started using Reddit I was impressed with how pleasant people acted, as opposed to Facebook. But after using it now for 5 years it has really gone to a very dark place. The hate, nastiness, anger is now over the top. I’m glad this site was setup and I personally can get away from Reddit, because I love my life and Reddit makes me want to hate people.

What you said is true. From my own experience Reddit was a nice place from 2008 when I started using it to 2013ish. From 2014 original Reddit users were replaced/overwhelmed by people leaving Facebook.
Can you imagine Reddit used to campaign for Republicans in 2008? Liberals are cancerous.
