I love this site. I love it. I love it so much that I think the amazing dev team can actually make what they've built function even better than Reddit.
Here are some of my thoughts. Please post your ideas below if you have any. Many of these are minor, but just small ways to continue to improve and keep the energy high!
-
Upload image button - connect to magaimg.net API to allow a poster to automatically generate an image link and apply it to a new post.
-
Infinite scroll rather than pagination - this site imports the jQuery library, there are plugins for this to make it easy
-
Color of post headings - Instead of bright link blue, changing seen to light gray and unseen posts to dark gray or light black would be easier on the eyes.
-
Dark mode option (but definitely keep the light mode as default)
-
Get rid of dotted boxes after upvoting - because the UPVOTE elements are actually link tags (a href), by applying this simple CSS fix, we don't have to see a box over there UPVOTE arrow every time we click it: outline:none; text-decoration:none;
-
Change Hot algorithm - it acts more like Top than Hot right now and doesn't update as often as T_D on Reddit.
The site is amazing, again, and I'm looking forward to watching it become one of the most active in the United States during the Second Great Meme War of 2020. Kudos!
Does it show number of users and "number of winners" online? I'd love to see how fast we're growing!
Agree. It would be especially interesting seeing the growth rate compared to that of T_D on Reddit. They're trying to tell me T_D gains 200 new subs a WEEK? Oh please. Around 2017 the sub already had 6 million subs.
