However, McCain/Palin had terrible enthusiasm from republicans. The only energy among conservatives that year was the Tea Party movement that was largely censored (and prosecuted into oblivion by the IRS as soon as Obama was president).
Many of Obamas votes came FROM REPUBLICANS who were always leery of McCain and who were gullible regarding Obama.
This election you had Trump coming in with 96% approval among republicans. That’s considerably better than Reagan had. And Trump had historic levels of support from minorities and unions (historic for a republican).
Among the left, there was a high level of anti Trump motivation due to the hysteria bs.
You indicated that there are 25m more eligible voters in 2020. Let’s assume 30% of those voted. That’s 7.5m new voters. Now you need to get 17.5m from existing voters. The importance of this election felt much higher to both sides. Trump supporters wanted to protect the incredible progress Trump’s made. Biden supporters were rabid against Orange Man bad. That makes it easy to see where a few percent more eligible voters turned out.
This is where the argument that the ratio was counting votes at .75 1.25 makes sense to me. AND THE ONLY REASON THE ALGORITHM DID NOT WORK WAS BECAUSE OF RECORD TURNOUT. The lie is not in how many people turned out; the lie is claiming they voted for Beijing Biden
