That's true. When I was in the service my specialty was secure communications. I had to go out of my way to focus on tactical field communications. I also made a point of needing a war skill. So my commander volunteered me to be part of the reserve unit used for base defense. This was in Germany during the cold war. War games became a lot more interesting.
