I never believed the encrypted watermark stuff.
However, every printer does leave a small code/ watermark on everything it prints. It usually contains the make and model of the printer and a timestamp. It's usually very tiny and printed in yellow in a corner if I remember right. Assuming that the cheaters didn't know where on the paper it was, and didn't remove it buy cutting it off, then If we could get one of the ballots that's assumed to be fake, we could check to see if the printing matches that of the real ballots.
