Many democrats are religious. African-American protestants vote 80%+ Democrat. It’s an ethno-political alliance, not a religious one. Atheists, like the LGBT community, aren’t a big enough bloc in my opinion to matter. Women, sure, though European-American women are a wash and don’t really help either side too much (slight bias republican).

I hear your 1930’s point, but the parties may not have been what they are today or what they will be tomorrow. For all I know, Democrats today are the Republicans of the past, and Republicans then were all libertarian / classically liberal.

It’s not necessarily relevant to today’s context and the Republican Party of the past may have been what we consider RINO’s today.

America First will likely never, ever, ever win a majority (over 50%) of the African-American vote without discarding America First and becoming Democrats.

We now live in a world where mass welfare exists. It’s not the 1930’s. And America is (or will soon be) minority European, with a large income disparity as tech companies continue to increase it through automation.

Ethnic conflict and group rivalry will increase as resources become scarcer for the masses, and only high skilled jobs remain (think automated trucking, automated fast food joints, all retail existing online, etc). That means voting patterns will increase, not decrease, their divergence. I don’t wanna be a doomer, but I do genuinely believe this is going to be true.
