I never heard anything about facebook until your post. I understood it as longstanding buddhist-muslim tensions. The Rakhine muslims were internationally known for terrorist insurgency, corruption, theft, vandalism, and rape. The ICJ, which is known to favor muslim victimhood complaints, had no authority over Myanmar's sovereignty, so they convinced Gambia (an islamic majority country) to accuse Myanmar of genocide in order to exercise their "authority".
