It’s not that they assume we are stupid, it’s that they honestly believe power in the right hands guided by the right science can only ever be benevolent. In their minds they cannot even fathom why someone would even disagree with, let alone fight against, the idea that the perfect society can be scientifically engineered. As with the communists, nazis and fascists, to the left science is more than just observation it is a religion they intend to force us all to abide by. And when it fails again they will find someone to blame and begin another experiment in the wreckage of the last one.
