The biggest redpill I ever had was learning that the left has been slandering conservatives since 1789. Those they can't slander, they pretend were on their side all along.

King Louis and Queen Marie Antoinette (Of "let them eat cake" infamy) were massive philanthropists and had huge food banks distributing bread to the poor.

Alexander Hamilton, John Adams, and a good chunk of our Founding Fathers were avowed Monarchists.

Nixon was basically Trump. A populist president who beat a rigged election, worked to bring peace the country (by making friends with China and turning them against the USSR), and went after the deep state. Unlike Trump though, he failed.

Its honestly horrifying realizing that everything we learned was leftist propaganda, even the stuff we didn't think.

King George III wasn't a tyrant, but a lame duck (and the monarchy had been this way for a century). Parliament called the shots and intruded on the King's domain when they started accreting control over the Americas (which only the King could do legally). This is why the Founding Fathers were so scared of elected officials. They saw the proto deep state in action.

About half the CSA only left the Union after Lincoln acted like a tyrant (Not a single southerner voted for Lincoln) and sent federal troops to annex the south. There were also slave states in the North (showing the war wasn't about slavery even though slavery was the touch stone which set everything off).
