Sadly our state-owned media seems to take all it's 'news' about the US from CNN, and only CNN.

Even Radio NZ which is in many respects a reputable broadcaster is terribly one-eyed about it.

It's not really a Jacinda thing though as it predates her ascension, I fear it's a Five Eyes thing.

Don't blame your rellies too much, it's just what they get fed from every. single. news. outlet.
