True, that's how science is supposed to act. Unfortunately, all those test tubes and chemicals cost money. Science is too expensive an activity to continue, unless you are funded...and generally, the special interests that fund the scientists are paying to get the answer they want to hear...and the scientists know that, and want to continue eating dinner every night. And so, scientists will conclude whatever their special interest backers tell them to.

In the 1950's, Big Tobacco was paying scientists to say that smoking was healthy!

In the 1960's, Hucksters were paying scientists to say that machines that wiggled fat-asses with giant belts could make you lose weight.

In the 1970's, the food pyramid was pushed to every school-aged child.

in the 1980's, margarine was touted as the safe alternative to fat. (it's not!)

in the 1990's, sugar & high fructose corn syrup were PUT IN EVERYTHING

in the 2000's, Science pushed blood pressure, and ADHD meds (hmm, why does everyone suddenly need these?)

Today, they tell you the Earth is freezing & melting simultaneously; there are 6 million genders; men have periods, and the corona virus is killing everybody that goes outside...

I'm skeptical.
