I don't think it is an era or a timeline. I think it's a state of mind in which Americans are expected to be the best they can be, to fight for their own priorities for a change (our veterans for instance), and are no longer expected to put the entire world first (going to war and dying for all these causes that we need not be involved in). It's a pride of hard work and saying that individuals are capable of creating and fulfilling their own destiny. It is no longer about walking around like you are apologetic to everyone else and stand for nothing.
