I'm guessing went to basic and wanted out. Managed to convince them he was medically disabled. Probably spent most of his "career" on med hold or whatever the USMC calls it. Assuming he was enlisted, no idea what officers do. Edit- I am not a Marine nor have I served in any branch of the military just to be clear.
