My take on this so far is honestly that this is war. And war is strategy.

The main attack that will come against POTUS (when the case comes that confirms his overwhelming landslide) is that the SCOTUS was "in the bag" for him, due to the recent confirmations.

Enter softball lawsuits.

The softball lawsuits provide a public opportunity for the people to see that SCOTUS is indeed not "in the bag" for Trump, and that they will rule objectively and fairly.

When the time comes to rule objectively and fairly on a matter with standing, that will impact the final outcome of the election, SCOTUS will rule accordingly. And their objectivity will have been more solidly established in the eyes of the public.
