• We've had our rights eroded.

• People are "losing their guns in a boating accident" which means, they've given up. (if you have to hide your guns, that's precisely the time to "fish" them out)

• We've seen that the voting / election system has been compromised beyond repair. So peaceful options to vote out "leaders" that aren't liked, are lost.

• Most of the government agencies are compromised and/or in on it. Bribery, is the norm, and just accepted as day-to-day business.

If the loss of free and fair elections doesn't trigger 1776, what the fuck will? They're not going to take all the guns at once, so that won't do it.
