Look up a company called "Ricoh".

They're what's called a managed services company. (The parent company is a japanese copier company. they bought established managed services companies in the US as a way to sell customers copiers) Anyways they contract services to other businesses (and try to sell or lease their copiers of course). So they might have employees working a lumber yards mail room, some doing copier management at a sporting goods company, some scanning at a hospital, some doing reception at law firms....basically anything.

Pay isn't phenomenal but better than min wage and you get full benefits. But the biggest benefit of this company is that they hire almost anyone and it provides office work experience. Lots of people put 2 years in with Ricoh and start looking for a job after getting the experience. You work with the clients employees and are almost indistinguishable from them, sometimes for many many years. I knew a lady that worked at a college for 20. Sometimes the customer will hire the people sent to them, they're not supposed to because it isn't a staffing agency but providing contracted services but they will jump through the hoops if they really like the person.

If you have a reliable car the chances are even higher if you apply as a field support rep, basically a floater that fills in at a handful of locations. These guys usually look to see which sites they like the most and apply as a permanent person as soon as an opening pops up. And they have a huge leg up in the application process because chances are they're already mostly trained for the possition.

If I remember correctly they're even HQed in PA.

Also search for "managed services" company since theres more local ones and the job is pretty much similar.

Worked for them for 7 years. Jobs like this is what best can be described as a stepping stone between fast food/retail and a "real" job that you might consider a career.
