Be careful, there's a lot of leftist economists who think communism is where it's at. Not a "real" economist perhaps lol.

Here's a comic meme joke that describes what we're talking about nicely.

It's not even about economics but the entire justification of women in the workforce in the first place.

There are only 3 main reasons women join the workforce:

  1. To ensure independence from men and not rely on men for their economic well-being
  2. To give their life meaning/purpose
  3. To improve their quality of life based on the material possessions and experiences that money can buy

None of these reasons are actually beneficial to a family. If a woman is married with a husband who loves her as much as she loves him, then number 1 adds no value. Women think that by having more economic freedom it reduces their need of men thus enhancing their ability to be more selective with the men they choose to be with but this is a false sense of security. Men have had economic power for millennia yet still always chose to be with a woman and in fact many have declared that they need women despite women adding no economic value. A woman may not need a man's money now but she doesn't actually enhance her own value in regards to men so having economic value doesn't make it easier to find higher quality men. Women learn this when they're 30yo+ and are forced to settle with the "lower quality" men they thought they didn't need to settle with when they were in their 20s. This whole dynamic doesn't actually do anyone any favours in the relationship game. The single independent women sitting around with 5 cats who refuse to settle for a man aren't actually any happier than women 200 years ago who were reliant on men. In fact this reliance on men in a lot of ways creates a better relationship dynamic between men and women because relationships work better when there's a distinct need to rely on each other. That's a whole other discussion though.

A person's whose life's meaning/purpose is derived from work is being lied to. This is a path to spiritual death. Very few jobs give anyone's life purpose and most especially very few labour jobs where you are not the master of your own skill but you work for someone else. The purpose of work for most people is not the work itself but to provide for a family or a hobby and it is that which a person derives meaning or purpose. The greatest inventors and scientists of all times were often paid a stipend to live with nobility and didn't work a 9-5 job to give their life meaning. A woman who is paid a stipend by their husband who then uses her free time to pursue actual meaningful things instead of being a slave to her employer would find far more satisfaction in life.

We are immensely wealthy right now. We're more wealthy than we've ever been. The actual monetary gain from having a dual income is extremely limited. Bigger houses, fancier cars, nicer clothes and more vacations actually add so little value to life compared to more time with the kids, more time with the family and overall a slower paced, less stressful and less anxious existence.

Basically, nothing feminism has added to society has actually benefited to the people in society. The only people who've benefited from feminism are the wealthy elite.
