It’d be a great documentary to have someone simply try eating every day to hit the requirements of the food guide pyramid and the RDA. Have them do it for 6 months to a year. Have it be someone that’s fairly healthy. Chances are that their health would go to shit and all relevant blood markers would be worse than before.
It wouldn’t even make sense to have most of the daily requirements they detail in an evolutionary sense. Were cave men going around obsessed with trying to get 100% zinc and 100% calcium and all else alongside 6-10g of carbs per kg of body weight every day through food? Were people even able to do that more than 50 years ago? The diet they put forth isn’t even feasible without becoming an obsessive OCD mess, and absolutely no population ever studied has ever done what they are advising people to do daily.
Not one. Not some. Not any.
I pisses me off too that doctors are among the few allowed to legally make nutritional recommendations when doctors usually have 1 course in nutrition that’s based on bullshit on top of that.
