The new strain is a real thing, but I'm pretty confident even the government is saying it's become less lethal than flu, which is typical of viruses anyways. It's also already in Italy, Australia and a few other countries.
(Edit: Just found out Brazil discovered the same strain 8 months ago. Not that new after all)
Apart from the singles chart thing which I have no idea on, everything else is pretty accurate.
(EDIT: It's number 2 on iTunes UK: https://www.nme.com/news/music/the-kunts-boris-johnson-is-a-fucking-ct-is-in-the-running-to-be-uk-christmas-number-one-2844307)
Support in the ruling party from backbenchers and from public for Boris is pretty much at rock-bottom, especially as the original Christmas rules were voted on by Parliament, and the Government scrapped it completely after sending MPs home for Christmas.
General public seems to be of the mindset of a) they are powerless to do anything because government has set the precedent that they can just do what they like without any influence of other elected officials, or b) are incredibly vocal, protesting and revolting because all of their policies are contradictory.
The Brexit deadline is fast approaching. If Boris sells the UK out and gives us a bad deal then I'm pretty sure that will be the absolute last straw as it breaks his biggest election promise.
They will certainly not be elected again for a very long time, that's for sure.
