“Green tip” is 62gr.

Both M855 “green tip” and m193 55gr are FMJ.

You can tell because they have a totally jacketed “nose” and ogive as opposed to a hollow point bullet (mk262; also 5.56).

In terms of actually killing things (given either m855 or m193) I’ll take the m855 any day.

Because it has a steel penetrator and lead base it actually starts to tumble when it loses spin stability (in tissue). Think about throwing a dart fins first. The tip will end up leading.

Above 2700fps the round will actually fragment at its cannelure while it tumbles and send fragments into the target in a mini grenade effect. It’s a mess.

I wouldn’t want to stand in front of either though.
