That's exactly what Reagan did and Trump did and still doing (Trump is largely using Reagan's playbook, with updates and Trump's "Art of the Deal" insight/techniques among others he has.)

If Trump wanted to change the Elephant to a Lion he would have, he's branding genius; but the reality is there's major problems with doing this (which is honestly why the Pedes with the least wisdom enjoy the LION the most; the DEM version being the least wisdom Dems enjoying the ANTIFA logo compared to the DEM party).

I get that people have fun with it. But it's not owned IP and it's not the right time when the whole bandwidth of communication should be "Repubican" rallying cry to unite, in one giant Jan 6th joint-session. Changing uniforms before the big show, is not helpful; and for those that have even bigger antenna know, that it's also ripe for the false flag operations. All in All, it's nearly all downside.
