polish jokes imho were a way to demoralise Poles in the eyes of the ‘West’ during cold war or should I say, after the II WW. typical psy-op.

Poles were betrayed by ‘allies’ in September1939 (‘strange war’ episode), then Poland was sold at Yalta conference to Stalin, Poland not invited to the Victory Parade by the ‘allies’. Poles call it ‘mother of all betrayals’. It didn’t help that England kicked out Polish veterans right after the war, only thanks to Scotland they could avoid death from communists in Poland. Best polish joke, is that Poles were stupid enough to take Allies word of honour at a crucial time.
