This is the most demoralizing thing for me personally. I have family members and friends who are otherwise very smart, successful people (doctors, lawyers, engineers) that laugh and call me crazy when I suggest that you can't just read/watch MSM in all its corporate oligarch propaganda and be informed. It's like they can't grasp that something called "NEWS" wouldn't actually have the goal to inform you rather than push agendas. Their counterarguments tend to suggest I just glue myself to Trump's twitter and that's my sole source of news (since the first "lol Fox News" suggestion gets BTFO by me because it's all the same bullshit in different flavors). To these people "the internet" is a portal of conspiracy theories and lies and we have to trust the journalistic "experts" who have done absolutely nothing in years to earn our trust, rather the opposite.
It blows my mind because it takes me less than a paragraph or two into a typical NYT article or NPR report to parse the blatant agenda pushing and propagandistic word choice. Once you see it, you can't unsee it and it's obvious everywhere. I've just about given up on my family members, I can't make them see something they refuse to open their eyes for. Yet, they are the same people I can't abandon, have to work with and have help me and be on the same page in a time of crisis. Frustrating on a deep level.
