But that was probably one of the reasons why your people have been blind to the creeping rot. The older ones who grew on those stories believed on deep level that it was like in reality too, and for a long time it seemed to be because not many spoke against it. Your press, your news people, they all kept up the illusion that all was like that because they thought that they needed to. Only recently when they have started to believe that they have won, fully and completely, the masks have been dropped, mostly and by most.

You probably still have more than a few who are fully masked though.
