There are three bridges into DC that cross the Anacostia River. There is a rail bridge that can be approached from the wooded area of River park on the East Bank of the river.

Edit: The Anacostia River walk trail and the rail bridge converge underneath the Penn Ave Bridge. There are pull offs that could accommodate large suv's/trucks and vans, then it is a straight shot up Penn Ave to the capitol. TMYK
