I like talking to people from both sides, and in general, it’s usually almost impossible to have a coherent conversation about politics with people the further left leaning they are. Doesn’t matter what the topic is or your tone. They almost immediately become angry at disagreement.
I get why people believe that stuff as if it were a religion because it’s fed to people like it’s a religion. K12’s all liberal talking points. Go to college, and most Universities are all hyper liberal. They’ll even have people openly declaring themselves communists there and wearing Marx shirts because it’s in their best interests to do so. Their income can’t go up if they don’t get people to pay them more, whereas in open markets, your income can go up if you simply provide ways of delivering more value faster and in all manner of other ways. They incentivize whining.
It really is like giving people the Red Pill from the Matrix to talk about anything that goes against liberal ideology because the first 21-23 years of their life are spent feeding them the opposite. More if they go for a graduate degree to avoid having to face massive student loan debt on a degree that will never pay it off. Then you go on social media sites and all the big ones now censor anything that isn’t liberal.
Even not knowing the history of communism, socialism, and things backing liberal talking points, it’s pretty easy to look at those supporting them and those supporting something else and ask yourself who you’d rather be. Outside of celebrities pandering to people, there’s a disturbing number of people most would call ‘losers’ supporting things like socialism. Never personally met someone self-employed or self-made that didn’t laugh at things like socialism.
“Why should I work harder to pay other people for not working?”
A great way to deal with income inequality would be to encourage people to avoid low paying jobs and degrees, which coincidentally, are the sorts of jobs and degrees you’ll find most people having the further left they go. Maybe don’t be an ethnic studies major. Maybe be a plumber. Or major in STEM. Or start your own business. Or work your way up another business. You’d likely do better working your way up McDonald’s than being an ethnic studies major. You wouldn’t even need a degree to be something like a diversity officer. Hire everyone that isn’t white or a man. It’s not hard if you actually wanted to support that ideology, and the degree isn’t needed.
I’ve tried talking about Voter ID with people online before on left sites and the responses all sound like bots or confused people. That’s a very telling issue, along with illegal immigration. Has little to do with how many are here or what they’re doing. People support illegal immigration because they’re told to. If you ask, you just get recycled talking points and laughable studies.
