Younger people see Harley as weird and cultish, and pretty much everything OP described is them attempting to sterilize their brand image and distance themselves from all the stereotypes associated with Harley. Superficially it looks like your typical woke corporate political correctness, but I think in this case it's motivated purely by money since their older customer base is dying out and they now need to sell their bikes to millennials and Gen Z in order to stay alive.
If the people making these decisions at Harley happened to be running a company associated with liberal culture and for some reason they needed to change and appeal to a conservative demographic in order to stay in business, they would do it in a heartbeat. They're probably liberal so it's a fortunate coincidence for them that for the sake of business they have to erase boomer Harley culture, but ultimately they're just being sellouts.
