I think he has plausible deniability for that and I'm not sure how it would stand criminally. I don't know the entire law but I don't get the impression that's an easy action to derive a charge from and the prosecute. On the other hand we have seen a lot more evidence than just the video where he said that emerge which starts to wear plausible deniability a bit thin. It might not be enough plausible deniability for me personally but in a legal setting you would normally require a much higher standard of evidence.

In a legal setting it would be the opposite if the parties are switched. Democrats are not capable of being impartial. We know that from Flynn, the impeachment, etc. This does make it tempting to just say screw it they don't give us fair trials so don't give them fair trials.

If you look deeply into that case then I believe things start to fall out that are much more serious. Some may be abuses but not criminal even though they should simply due to being novel and not written into law. Others may be crimes.

I don't think any reasonable person could possibly believe that Hunter was put on the board of Burisma by pure coincidence. A deadbeat crack addict who apparently posts porn videos on porn hub if I remember getting a footjob from someone who suspiciously resembles an underaged relative which then suspiciously lead to pornhub being sanctioned by payment providers for underage material with no relevant skills other than his father being VP ends up on the board of a major Ukrainian energy company receiving a massive salary.

That on its own is a significant international scandal (US politicians basically stealing Ukraine's wealth giving it to their families) without Biden also being the one to fire the prosecutor looking into Burisma.

The simple set up of giving aid to Ukraine while then inexplicably receiving money from Ukraine is again on its own extremely problematic.

A lot of people get caught up with the seemingly obvious things like Biden saying he held up the aid until they fired the prosecutor but forget that even the more basic details are damning.
