If Trump pardons him, then he is no longer under any kind of authority in the US justice system and just stays in prison in the UK. How would it help anything? They would just hold him on additional trumped charges forever. They don't hold a man in prison for years under threat of extradition and then don't extradite for no reason, someone wants him locked up there.
