Imagine, for a moment, what this would be like without social media...

The only reason this is "earth-shattering news" is because its author is claiming it is.

There is no story. No investigative work. No uncovering of facts to go along with it.

And this is why we've been "duped" by social media. Because it is so freely given and so freely received, it becomes nothing more than this incessant urge to be part of a perceived peer group. That by upvoting, we're somehow participating. That by retweeting, we're somehow putting in the work.

What a sham, the lot of it...

EDIT: And I'm fully aware of the irony of this statement since it too is being posted on a social media site.
