I don't buy shit I don't need, my wife is an expert scratch cook, and I live in rural Indiana and bought near the bottom. Oh, and I don't borrow.

I got a scholarship for college...no loans.

I worked all through college and graduated with 32k in assets and went to work at 40k a year back then. My wedding cost $2500 including honeymoon, dress, ring.

My mortgage was 700/month on a 120k rental house that I rented out for 450 and lived in the other apartment. Had house paid off in 6 years. Sold it for more than I paid for and bought farm with some savings. Moved family out to country.

Have cattle, eat off my land. Food bill is coffee, chocolate, and spices basically. Wife makes cheese, butchers, etc. Homeschool kids. Sews many of our clothes.

Monthly expenses basically internet, water bill, phone, electricity...all together under $250 usually. We cut wood for heat. Propane only for water heater. Gasoline is a significant expense, about $20-40 per week.

Tax on land is $1000/year. stupid house/car insurance is $200/month.

No mortgage.

Credit card is stuff like animal feed, tools, stuf like that which goes down as I accumulate property.

Kids cost very little. If you have a decent sized three bedroom house they only cost food, clothes, shoes which are not much and you can pass on. They are also huge tax credits.
