I've been in a few wrecks with older vehicles and it is definitely dependent on the vehicle and the type of collision. If a 1975 F-150 and a 2020 F-150 are going to collide head on and I have to be in one, I'll take the 2020 every time. If a 1975 F-150 and a 2020 Prius are going to collide, I'll take my chances in the truck.
When I wrecked my 66 F-100 I was hit in the passenger door by a 90's Tacoma. I walked away, the truck needed a new cab, door, and fender. When my buddy wrecked his Skylark he rear ended a 00s Monte Carlo and it totalled his car and the Monte. He got pretty cut up and broke his foot in the accident. Monte Carlo driver was banged up a little but didnt require help.
