I love that term "God's chosen" because it's almost always used when gloating...
...whereas I think it's likely that Jews were "chosen" by God because out of all the races, the Jews and their culture, laws and religion were the most misguided and in need of intervention.
Having God personally come to Earth to tell you to cut it out, is not necessarily something to gloat about... and having Him tortured and crucified for heresy and then ignoring His teachings for almost 2000 years is certainly not something to gloat about either.
