You basically slowly poison the backups over time.

E.g. gradually mangle everyones friends lists together whenever a backup is made, data looks the same

... it could be undetectable if done right until the backup is needed...

..it would make Facebook pointless to the normies if the system fails and they try to restore the "random friends" list from any previous backup...

..and if they use ones from previous years it will be so stale, the lists would be useless anyway.
