Realistically, IF (big if I know) succession happens, the left is utterly fucked. They are islands in a sea of conservatives who are sitting on all the resources. Meanwhile we live in a world where cities are basically giant liabilities. It would be like the split of the Roman Empire where Rome was left with an angry hungry mob and the Eastern Empire with all of the resources was able to flourish for a few more centuries.
