I've noticed that there's a lot of pressure from the females in my family for "everyone to just get along. Don't talk about politics. Keep the peace. We all love each other."

That's what they want, but it's not the reality. Thanksgiving and Christmas this year were excruciating. Crying, fighting, and all kinds of bullshit. Why should I put myself through that? Why do I have to force myself to get along with people I don't agree with?

My cousin robbed my grandmother of all her jewelry but I'm supposed to just keep on loving her because "we're family!"
