Doing nothing would take Less courage, and be the coward's choice (people value the safety of their loved ones over public opinion!) unless - there was a plan for Pence to (temporarily) sacrifice his reputation, and put his family in danger - to protect the republic. To help clean house in one fell swoop.
If Pence threw out the Biden slate of electors and accepted the Trump electoral votes, it may have worked to get Trump back in the WH. But it probably would be seen as a coup detat which was only legal due to 'an outdated document, which Trump exploited on a technicality'.
Might have gone to the supreme court, then we'd lose or sure. And even if we didn't lose - I don't think we'd win as Big as we're going to this way.
There are no coincidences. Why do you think there are 25,000 troops in DC? To stop Trump supporters from shooting Biden? - Please. A handfull of ex-military killers might try, but they'd have to have lost all hope to risk their lives like that - also they'd need to take out Biden and Harris in Minecraft... I think the troops are there to keep order, for the canceled inauguration/arrests. Get some more hopium there are only 2 days left pedes.
