What's really needed, is for you and everyone you can recruit, to be present when your precinct captain needs your butts at the county convention to vote.

When we were trying to get better candidates on the primary ballot, our county GOP had the convention early on a Saturday morning as far away from the populated precincts as possible. For people in my precinct it was a three hour drive. The GOP leaders locked the doors at 8:30AM and wouldn't let anyone late in till they realized we could still out vote them. Then they changed the rules while they bused in mentally handicapped people and had their caretakers vote for them.
