A very rough summary (things left out/different, hard to remember the exact details).
It's about a war where one side being heavily under-armed/undermanned so they leave the gates open to the area which the enemy want's to capture... The area is perfectly serene and peaceful, no one in sight... the enemy was to afraid to enter...
