If he had done what Jenna Ellis advised, and it worked, he'd have been a hero. He'd be forever known as, "The guy who stopped the steal." Conservatives would have wanted to reward him and supported him in 2024.

He'd have been a lock for the GOP nomination and probably would have won the presidency because Biden would be too old and the DNC bench is very weak, as the 2020 campaign proved.

If her plan failed, he'd still be able to say, "I went with what my counsel advised me."

Nobody would have faulted him. It would be Ellis' fault if anyone's. But most Conservatives love Jenna, so nobody would have complained, especially because everyone knew it was a long shot.

And even if the plan failed, Pence could still have got sympathy support for a presidential run as the guy who did what he was told and did his best but was robbed along with Trump.

The whole idea that Pence was happier to give the presidency to a Democrat (!) who is Senile Senator (!) and in bed with China (!) than to get a chance at the presidency himself is absolutely mind-boggling to the point you have to wonder if he is insane.
