The 5 year old doesn't know where money comes from, or dad's struggle to keep his job, or mom's frustration with self expression. The lights always stay on, the dinner table always has food, and toys and playtime are always enjoyable. Is it arrested development?

When most of us grow up, we come to understand the evils of society, and the necessity of checks and balances in government to avoid exponentially larger evils. A child hasn't the mental development to understand this, so an omnipotent government sounds just great.
