Bro, you have no idea.

Did you know that CenturyLink's regions are controlled monopolies? Did you know that CenturyLink teams up with the other ISP in their area to force/keep out competition? Did you know that CenturyLink owns the LARGEST Tier 1 backbone in the United States (Level3)?

Did you know that before they were CenturyLink, they were Qwest? Did you know that Qwest was a construction/landscape company before a utility? Did you know that Qwest took a bid from AT&T to trench copper/fiber lines through the United States and they were the lowest bidder? Did you know that when they took that contract, they laid their own fiber/copper right next to AT&T's on AT&T's dime then once the contract was finished, they went into the ISP business to compete directly with AT&T?

Don't trust CenturyLink. The ONLY good thing they do is KIND OF keep user data safe from the FEDs. The Feds need a court order to get customer records. No exceptions. Other companies like Sparklight just hand them over without court orders.

Oh, and CenturyLink unionizes their jobs. And if you're not in the union you can go fuck yourself. CenturyLink also doesn't give a fuck about rural areas. They'll leave you on 10 down 856 up unless you pay them tens of thousands of dollars for them to trench you lines and they normally don't even bother unless your local government puts a fuck ton of pressure on them.

CenturyLink has deals with most towns/cities and actually give them a certain kickback if they're the only game in town. Which is weird, because they're teetering on bankruptcy. They really took a hit buying Level3 and they haven't recovered.
