Yeah there is multiplayer. It's not super geared towards multiplayer action though. There are missions to collaborate on, dogfights to get in to, and I suppose you could construct bases next to one another, but at it's heart it is a sandbox/exploration game. The teleporter system is easy and extensive though, so when you're out exploring and fucking around it's a snap to go to a particular place to join up with your people.
