They are barely in the military in the medical group. If they made it any more stringent they wouldn't be able to retain any high-demand, high pay fields like nursing, doctors, dental, lawyers, etc. JAG and Medical are barely military.

Also doesn't help that female uniforms look like bag of ass anyway. I know a couple active duty women who are in fantastic shape that look like shit in their BDU/ACU/whatever we're calling it these days.

You can also get pregnant on active duty, and that cycle for fitness evaluation is long.
