It basically is a bunch of middlemen (belonging to leftist parties) who got a cut of all the grain being sold till the new laws came into effect.

The farmers now are forming cooperatives and are selling to businesses directly, cutting out these middlemen. Thus these middlemen with the support of the leftist parties (which are in opposition now) are staging protests either with gullible farmers or paid protesters.
